The Pendleton Legendary Series All Night Meeting blanket honors an original pend and ink drawing by Yankton Sioux artist Joseph Chamberlain. The pattern represents a meeting betweenmembers who drum, pray and meditate. The seven figures in the tent and the seven Water Birds represent the Seven Fires shared by people on their journey to the Plains. The Seven Council Fires became the governing group of the seven tribes of the Sioux. The two warriors hold a gourd rattle, small drums, and feathered fan during the meeting. Water Birds are a symbol of renewal and the rain and rivers that feed us and quench our thirst. The Moon and Sun represent the duration of the meeting.
